Health & Safety Advisory

Running involves physical exertion. Participate only if you are medically fit and prepared for your registered distance.

Pregnancy & heart conditions: For your safety, pregnant women and people with known heart disease are advised not to participate unless their treating doctor confirms that the chosen distance is suitable.

Read Full Advisory
  • Other medical conditions: If you have a condition that may affect exercise, or are recovering from surgery or injury, consult your doctor before race day. Follow their advice and prescribed treatment.
  • Do not start if you feel unwell: Avoid participating with fever, an acute illness, chest pain, unusual breathlessness, dizziness, or an injury that makes running unsafe.
  • Stop and seek help: If you develop chest pain, severe breathlessness, faintness, or feel seriously unwell during the race, stop immediately and alert the medical team or nearest volunteer. Do not continue through warning symptoms.
  • Race responsibly: Stay hydrated, pace yourself, avoid overexertion in the heat, and follow route and event-team instructions. Parents or guardians should ensure children participate in a suitable category with appropriate supervision.

This advisory is general information and does not replace an individual medical assessment. Contact the event team before race day if you need participation assistance.
