1. Event Nature
Pongalur Marathon is a running event. It takes place on Sunday, 11 October 2026 at Velan Mahal, Alagumalai.
The event theme is Drug-Free Society, Women’s Safety Awareness, and Community Participation.
2. Registration
- Registration is online on this website from 18 August 2026 until all 10,042 slots are filled. There is no spot registration.
- Choose your race category carefully. You may register for one race only.
- Confirmed registrations are non-transferable.
- Registration is subject to confirmation by the organisers.
- The organisers may accept or refuse a registration that does not meet these Terms & Conditions or the event guidelines.
3. Race Categories
Register for one of the following races:
- 10 KM — flag-off 5:30 am · minimum 16 years
- 6 KM — flag-off 6:30 am · minimum 12 years
- 3 KM — flag-off 7:00 am · minimum 5 years
You may not enter more than one category.
4. Age Eligibility
Age is checked by race category. There is no single age band for the whole event.
- 3 KM: minimum 5 years
- 6 KM: minimum 12 years
- 10 KM: minimum 16 years
- Anyone under 18 years must take part with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Children in the 3 KM category must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the event.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for the safety and supervision of participating children.
- Choose the category that matches the minimum age and your fitness.
- All participants should be medically fit to take part in a running event.
5. BIB and T-Shirt Distribution
- Registered participants must collect their official BIB and T-shirt as announced by the organisers.
- The distribution date will be declared later on this website.
- Bring a valid photo ID when you collect your BIB.
- A BIB registered in another person’s name may not be used. The organisers may refuse participation in that case.
6. Medical Declaration
By registering, you acknowledge that:
- You are medically fit to take part.
- Running involves physical effort and carries a risk of injury or illness.
- You take part voluntarily and at your own risk.
- If you have a medical condition, a health concern, or any doubt about your fitness, seek advice from a qualified medical professional before the event.
- If you feel unwell or have any health difficulty on race day, tell event officials or medical personnel at once.
7. Participant Responsibility
You agree to:
- Follow all instructions from the organisers.
- Treat volunteers, officials, and other runners with respect.
- Stay on the designated event route.
- Stop at once if an event official or medical personnel tells you to stop.
8. Safety and Liability
Risks of a running event may include, among other things:
- Falls
- Contact with other participants
- Dehydration
- Heat and humidity
- Road and course conditions
- Crowd movement
- Other unforeseen circumstances
The organisers are not responsible for injury, illness, accident, loss, or damage arising during the event.
9. Code of Conduct
Participants must:
- Wear suitable sportswear.
- Not carry dangerous objects.
- Not display political, religious, offensive, or promotional messages without organiser approval.
- Keep discipline throughout the event.
10. Photography and Media Consent
By taking part, you allow the organisers to use photographs, video, audio, and other media recorded at the event for promotional, educational, marketing, social media, website, print, and future event use, without further consent or payment.

Information you submit at registration will be used only for:

- Participant management
- Emergency support
- Event administration
The organisers will handle this information responsibly.
12. Event Changes
The organisers may:

- Change the venue
- Change the event route
- Postpone or cancel the event because of weather, government rules, emergencies, public safety, or other unforeseen circumstances
